31 Nights of Halloween - Night 22 Special Guest Amy Young

Hello, hello!
It's Amy from A Thousand Sheets of Paper and I am thrilled to be participating in the 31 Nights of Halloween as a guest designer here at Whimsy Stamps this month. It's hard to believe we are at night 22 already and so much frightfully fun inspiration has already been shared. For my card tonight I have combined stamps from Deb Davis's awesome Attempted Murder set and the sassy Jack o Lantern Joy by Kristen Winkelbauer. I love creating scenes for my character stamps to live in and the Attempted Murder set has so many great images for building perfectly spooky backgrounds that I know it is going to quickly become a go-to set for future cards. I stamped everything in Memento desert sand ink so that I could do the scene using the no-line coloring technique with my Copics. I really like the soft, sort of dreamy quality this lends to the over all design of the card. I imagine Jack o Lantern Joy is all dressed up and heading to a big Halloween party right at that witchy twilight hour. I would not be tempted to go explore that abandoned farm house along the way but she looks to be a lot braver than I ever would be! ;)

Well, thanks for letting me share in all of this Halloween excitement. I'll be back next Sunday with another whimsical witchy card. In the meantime, be sure to check back here tomorrow night for more WHIMSY STAMPS festivities! Have fun!

31 Nights of Halloween - Night 21 & Giveaway

Welcome to Day 21 of the Whimsy Halloween Celebrations!

Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend so far! It's Iris here today and I want to share a card with you where I used one of Whimsy's older Halloween Stamps. It's a Wee Stamp illustrated by Sylvia Zet and called Batty Boo. This is one of my favorite Halloween images of all times. I think it is stinkin' cute! Who can resist these little bats with their smooshy faces?

We are giving away lots of goodies during our Halloween celebration month here at Whimsy.  Denise is so generous and my giveaway for you today is this beautiful Batty Boo stamp (1 Stamp will be given away)! So if you would like to have these cute bats in rubbah then please leave a comment here in the comment section of this post. It's that simple! One comment per person please!

You have until 11:59pm on October 30th to enter. The winner will be drawn and announced here on the 31st - Halloween Night!

I colored the image with Copics and pencils using the no-lines technique. The background was created using a Tim Holtz Stencil (I think it's called 'Crackle') and Distress Ink  Tumbled Glass. The sentiment is from the 'Dracula I Compel You' clear set and stamped with Versafine black ink onto vellum paper.
I also clear embossed the sentiment to keep it from smearing.
I stamped  some of the bats included with the 'Dracula I Compel You' set onto the background panel. To give it even more dimension I as well die cut some bats from black cardstock with the matching Dracula I Compel You Die set.  The vellum paper strip was then layered on to the background panel. I fuzzy cut the image and added it with some foam tape on top of the vellum strip. To embellish and add some 'Bling' to my card I used  sequins and orange enamel dots from the Summer Breeze enamel dots set.

31 Nights Of Hallowe'en - Night 20 with Crissy Armstrong

Hi Whimsy fans! Crissy here on Day 20 of the "31 Nights of Hallowe'en"!!
I have a fun little game to play and it could mean free Whimsy product for you!
All I want you to do is comment below with the name of your favourite candy from Hallowe'en, from your childhood! If you didn't trick or treat as a kid, then just tell me your favourite scary movie!!
My favourite candy was the Sweet Tarts! Omygosh, mouth is currently watering, even as I type it out, LOL!!!
My favourite scary movie has to be Jurassic Park! I have a memory of hiding behind the couch when the kitchen scene came on - me and my daughter immediately hid behind the couch and only peeked at the screen when we felt we were able to handle it, LOL! Yes, I did that, as a grown woman!! ROFL
If you comment on this post and tell me your favourite candy (or scary movie) you will automatically be entered into a draw, and one person's name will be chosen to receive one of the following:
A free Crissy Armstrong rubber image of your choosing from Whimsy Stamps
A free Crissy Armstrong clear stamp set of your choosing from Whimsy Stamps
Three free Crissy Armstrong Digital images of your choice from Whimsy Stamps
You have until 11:59pm on October 30th to enter!
The lucky winner will be announced here on Halloween Night!
Anyway, onto my card...
I used my rubber image, "Kitties On Halloween"
I coloured it using multi-media.  I started with Copics, and then used some distress inks and some coloured pencil. I did some sponging on the sky to get the glow around the moon.  I used the distress inks like watercolours, and used a thin water colour brush to do the grass strands.
The paper is by the wonderful Tracy Wray of Whimsy. It is digital paper from her "Haunted Halloween" pack 1
I am IN LOVE with Tracy's papers, and I just feel so empowered that I can download and print out what ever sheets I want, and as many times as I want when I get one of her packs of digital paper!  It is a dream to be able to do this at home with my own printer! Saves loads of space too!
Layering is a breeze also, because I can layer it in my word program! No more need to carefully cut layers!! Can you tell I love this stuff??? ;-)

31 Nights of Halloween - Night 18 Special Guest Mindy Eggen

Welcome back everyone! I'm participating in the 31 Night of Halloween with Whimsy Stamps again! They have some fabulous Halloween images that you can use for you cards and projects. Today's card is going to be featuring Dracula Bite Stamp set and die by Deb Davis.

This card is quick and simple yet sure to bring a smile to your face!
I thought the sentiment was fang-tastic!

I'm start out by stamping my Dracula image onto Neenah white cardstock with copic friendly ink and coloring with my copics markers. I then use the coordinating die to cut out around the image.
I love the look of the images when they are cut out from dies! It leaves such a nice border.

Next, I'm going to stamp my sentiment onto my circle I cut from patterned paper and adhere that to my scallop circle I cut from black cardstock. I think this sentiment matches perfectly with the expression on Dracula's face!

Dracula is adhered with some foam squares to give the card a little dimension.

This coordinating die also has these really cute bats on there that I placed around my card and added some glossy accents to. It looks so cool with them being shiny! The finishing touch is to add some black nuvo drops around the card.

Copics used
Skin - E00-04-11-21-01
Shirt - R59-56-46, W2-1-0
Pants/Hair - W8-6-5-4

Be sure to check back here tomorrow night for MORE Whimsy Stamps Halloween FUN!
I also have a video available that you can watch on my blog or my youtube channel HERE.

Special Guest - Dina Kowal

Dina Kowal here with another guest spot for you today.  Before I get to my post I want to make sure that you all know about the Falliday Fest going on over at Splitcoast Stampers.  If not, head on over there and enter the challenges because Whimsy Stamps is one of the sponsors for prizes at the end of the fest.  And I'm sure you don't want to miss out on possible Whimsy Prizes do you?!

Okay so for today's tutorial I have a Panel Pull-Out Card - the base is a no-fold quarter sheet of cardstock, and the front panel folds in and out accordion style. Simple and fun!

The design of the card gives you 3 'front' panels to decorate - for my card front I've used the Puppy in Present stamp by Lee Holland, it might be fun to have some die cuts or other small birthday images peeking out from the other panels as well! I kept it simple here and just hid a sentiment on the third panel with some room for a handwritten greeting.

The sentiment is from a really fun clear set from Whimsy - I love small greetings and this set is just full of practical ones.

Those smaller card panels are a great way to use up scraps too - that's one of my goals with these tutorials and challenges.

Want to try the card yourself? Come over to the Falliday Fest Challenge Forum for all the details!

Thanks for stopping by!

31 Nights of Halloween - Night 17

Hello there!

Welcome back for the 17th night of Halloween Blog Celebration!

My name is Ellenor and I´m new in the Whimsy Stamps creative team. It´s an honour to be part of such  a fantastic talented team!

I have used the gorgeous Hazel for my halloween card, designer Sylvia Zet, I love her designs.
I usually dont add any sentiments on my cards, I think they are more versatile without.

I have used both Copics and Spectrum Noir to colour Hazel.

This little dragon must be the cutest dragon, ever! Or what do you think?

Thank you so much for stopping by us tonight, and dont forget to get back tomorrow again, for even more Halloween fun.

Take care.

31 Nights of Halloween Night 16

Hi Everyone!
I am so excited to be here for my first Whimsy post.  My name is Alexandra from Hedgehog Hollow; I am a new design team member, so you will see me regularly over here; plus we have Whimsy Wednesdays on my blog with regular Whimspiration!  All my posts will contain a video tutorial as well, and tonight is no exception.  Let's look at tonight's 31 Nights of Halloween project using Crissy Armstrong's adorable Penguin Trick-or-Treaters rubber stamp image...

Aren't they just the cutest? I had so much fun coloring these in! Let's look at the tutorial, I added in some tips as to how I choose colors for copic coloring too...

I hope you enjoyed seeing how they came together.  Now let's look at their cute little faces again up close...

Thanks so much for joining me here tonight, I can't wait to be back very soon (in fact later this week!), don't forget to stop by every evening for more spooky inspiration and great prizes throughout the month!

Happy Stamping!

31 Nights of Halloween - Night 15

Maria here with a fun card for the 31 Nights of Halloween. How do you like so far this fun month? Our team is just amazing! Lovely work and so much inspiration for you all. All you need is some fun goodies from Whimsy Stamps and a spooky decor.

I made a mini card, because they are so easy to make. To create a card like this you will need to do a bit of stamping, die cutting and lots of ink blending for the background.

For the background I used Sleepy Hollow die and the little birds are from Falling Leaves. I don't always like to add a sentiment. But in this case I really wanted to add the BOO word and for that I used the Brush Script Uppercase Alphabet die. The Sentiment Banner Dies goes really well with the boo word. so I had to add that as the base for my letters.

I hope you like today's card. If you do, please check out the other creations from our team. Remember, you can win goodies this month, so keep an eye on this blog.

Have a creative and safe day!
